Recap of Wednesday Night Gravel Grinder on July 19th, 2023:
Well, we had a fantastic turnout with 25 cyclists gathering for the start photo. Thank you, Dan, for capturing such an incredible moment with your photography skills! Apologies for my tardiness, as it prevented me from catching up with some friends. As a soon-to-be member or maybe already is, say hi to Scott, a friendly acquaintance whose last name is yet to be uncovered. Fortunately, the weather was excellent, with temperatures in the 80s. Moreover, the dirt road conditions were ideal, ensuring a smooth ride for everyone.
Dan led the A group, 18 Rhinos embarking on a 24-mile GPS route that was chosen by Darryn who for some reason decided not to show. While cruising along the gravel roads, Dan encountered a majestic deer that skillfully threaded the needle between the A group of riders, leaving everyone in awe of its grace and agility. Meanwhile, Scott took charge of the B group, leading 7 Rhinos to Holly and back. Although I initially intended to stick with the B group, my competitive spirit got the better of me. Consequently, I and Pedro uncontrollably surged forward, eventually leaving the B group behind towards the end of the ride. Apologies where passed on to Scott who was ok with it.
Dan, Scott and I want to express our gratitude to all the riders who joined us, making this gravel dirt road adventure yet another remarkable experience.
Warm regards, Webmaster: Mark
Please give a warm welcome to Pedro, positioned fourth from the left, as he embarks on his first ride with us, alongside Scott, who is positioned second from the right and enjoying his second ride with our esteemed Flying Rhino Club.
